People we serve

Although iPeace addresses a wide range of human rights and good governance issues, specific attention is given to the youth and to vulnerable and marginalized people living in remote rural areas such as people with disability, women and children, LGBTI, people living with HIV/AIDS, refugees & internally displaced persons (IDPs) and detainees.
As far as good governance is concerned, iPeace works hand in hand with local Authorities in terms of capacity building

Vulnerable People

While iPeace works to ensure that everyone in the society is effectively contributing to its betterment, specific attention is given to members of the following groups:

  • Young girls and boys (13-35 years old)
  • Women and children living in remote rural areas

Our programmes benefit people in groups as specific as people living with HIV/AIDS, LGBTI Community, Detainees, People with disability, and refugees.

In order to effectively assist our clients, iPeace:

  • Organizes trainings to educate these individuals on their Human Rights and to empower them to claim their legally-granted rights
  • Implements advocacy campaigns to raise awareness about major challenges facing members of vulnerable populations
  • Conducts research to understand specific issues threatening the peaceful enjoyment of human rights.
Empowering people

Local Leaders

As fas as iPeace activities are concerned, Local Leaders include:

  • Public Administration leaders
  • Judicial officers
  • Faith-based organization's leaders

These Local Leaders are found at cell, sector, and district levels and are critical to ensuring justice and peaceful coexistence within communities. Because Local Leaders interact daily with the people, they are the first allies of iPeace. To ensure that Local Leaders see themselves as accountable to the people, iPeace organizes trainings on Good Governance principles that emphasize effective, just leadership techniques.
