Rights are not worth it if they are not exercised. Certain categories of people face challenges to enjoy their rights. That is why iPeace has been working hard with leaders and communities to ensure that vulnerable people have access to justice like any other citizens.
To do this, iPeace pays particular attention to women, children, people living with disability, detainees, and minority groups. In the last five years, iPeace has established a remote legal aid clinic in Huye that serves 5 districts (Nyamagabe, Huye, Gisagara, Nyaruguru and Nyanza). Frequent mobile clinics are weekly organized in partnership with local leaders to ensure that people living in remote rural sectors receive free, quick and quality legal aid without walking long distances. In addition, iPeace has established a toll-free number (8800) where people in need across Rwanda can obtain free legal advices at the tip of their fingers.
